Pokemon Emerald Scorched Slab???

What exactly is the use of the tiny cave 'Scorched Slab' near Fortree City? I tried attracting pokemon by using Sweet Scent move, but it said there's nothing. There's no itemfinder items either, so what is the purpose? Question
